Dragon Professional V16 - Philips SpeechMike buttons not working

If the button functionality on your Philips SpeechMike isn't working in Dragon Professional V16, you may need to change the mode of your SpeechMike and apply new hotkeys settings.

Firstly, you will need to download and install the Philips Device Control programme.

To resolve (this example is for the record button to open and close the microphone in Dragon):

  1. In Speech/Device Control, set to Dragon Mode (Custom 3)

  2. In the hotkeys settings make sure the record button is set to a hotkey - the + symbol works (using a number pad, not shift + =).

  3. If they want to press and hold to dictate, release to stop: make sure that the option to press and hold is ticked!

  4. Click Upload to add the settings to the device

  5. In Dragon, go to Settings > Options

  6. In Hot keys, go to Microphone on/off > Edit

  7. Press the record button

  8. Press Ok > Apply
