Philips - How to update your Digital Pocket Memo (DPM) firmware
Before you begin...
It's important to make sure your device's battery is fully charged, as the firmware installation happens while the pocket memo is not plugged into a power source.
Direct update
- Start by plugging your DPM into your PC with the provided USB cable and switch on the device. After a moment it will show in your file browser as a device/drive
- Go to the product support page
- Navigate to the Software & Drivers section
- Click Firmware which will bring up the download's End User License Agreement
- Click Download to begin
- If your PC gives you the option to choose where to save the file, save it directly onto the DPM's storage
- If file downloads straight to your Downloads folder on your PC, you will need to move this file manually over to the pocket memo in the file browser.
- Open your file browser
and navigate to where the file has downloaded - Click, hold and drag the file over to the DPM drive location e.g. Philips (E:)
- Release the mouse to move the file to the device storage
- Open your file browser
- Once the firmware file is on the device storage, you can now unplug the pocket memo from the USB cable or carefully remove it from its dock
- The firmware will then begin to install automatically. This may take several minutes, so please be patient
- The firmware installation will be complete once the device powers back on and returns to the device's menu screen
